You reach Udaipur tired from the overnight travel, and the first day is kept easy on purpose. You check in, rest and walk around the lake in the evening. By the next morning you are ready for the City Palace, a boat on Lake Pichola and the drive up to Sajjangarh, where the whole city and its lakes are laid out below you.
After two nights in Udaipur, you drive to Jodhpur. The road is long, around 250 km, and the green around Udaipur slowly gives way to drier, open land. Jodhpur feels like a different state. You see the fort, walk through the old city and spend an evening in the market eating whatever the group points at.
